Another year, another lovely week at Glennie!

Your house is so comfortable and such a pleasure to stay in. It really is the top of the range with excellent accommodation both up and downstairs. Lovely pictures to look at (yours of course) and furniture etc. plus very comfortable beds and plenty of bathrooms. It is such a pleasant and memorable place to stay with a lovely garden and of course the river. We all really enjoyed being there and had a very happy week.

What a delightful place in a superb part of Scotland which suited our party of 10/12 ideally. We have always favoured Scotland in May – with the rhododendrons, azaleas and copper beech all looking their best, and yours were no exception – the front drive was magnificent. It was so enjoyable too having the company of the red squirrels every morning eating the bird food on the kitchen window. So sad we do not see them in the Sandringham woods anymore. Our party caught 4 salmon but I personally played golf on 6 days. Huntly, Keith, Ballindalloch Castle and Turriff (3 times) – the latter being a most delightful course, so well kept and not too far to travel.

We had a wonderful week staying in your lovely house. It is a real home. We had friends who arrived and decided they could not be at the right place as when they walked in they were convinced Glennie could not be a house that was let! Our cook said your kitchen was wonderfully found as compared with so many he cooks in. Freezers and fridges galore.

Sad to leave this little piece of heaven, looking at the silver water snaking away through the green and gold, holding its silver prizes. I’m sure you will catch one today! Thank you more than I can express for a blissful few days.

It was a joy staying in the House of Glennie last week – a glorious place, lovely surroundings and a beautiful stretch of river. The peace and quiet with no responsibilities were a longed for treat. The little touches were so appreciated: fresh flowers around the house and in the bedrooms; freshly laid fires and ready wood for us each evening – so welcome after long days either on the river or anyway in the fresh air. The well tended gardens… and the welcoming and ever caring Agnes and Ian. Thank you so much for letting us share your beautiful home for a week with your lovely pictures, interesting books and family photographs. A memorable week indeed.
